And another week has gone by....

And it is back to Monday again. Not much done during this past week. Haven't found any new shoes as yet, but I am on the look out. We went into the city yesterday for a look at the Triangle Centre, that is soon to be no more. Stewart Dawsons City is no more, just the front door and sign still left fo the moment but will no doubt be all gone within the next week or two. Must take a wander round the cordon to get an updated view on things happening. PWC building is being stripped, the top two floors have their coats off (not sure what the fancy construction word would be lol). Our city is slowly being stripped away.

I started my Wedding dress hunting here on 11.1.10. Tried on 4 dresses, neither of which ended up being the one I picked. But the lady who assisted me was very helpful. Quite enjoyed it all, started things all off for the wedding plans really.

Westpac Building in process of being demo'ed

Looking into SD's, you can stairwell up to Wilkin's

Looking along the building

Unlimited School, or what is left of it, they were working on it

Never went into this building, but my cousin started working here for Westpac.

Had a couple of training days up stairs in the JPL training room. Our managers were supposed to have a meeting the following Tuesday, just as well it wasn't the Tuesday they were there.
The last of Stewart Dawsons

It's sad to see what's left of our city, and still had to imagine what it's really going to look like when the cordon all comes down and we can mosy round to see the empitness left behind.

Well this Monday I didn't do a lot. I caught up on my TV programmes that I'd videoed. I watched a couple of Gilmore Girls' episodes (I do love to watch these). I was a good wife and did all the washing and changed the bed.

Then I decided to make some cupcakes, I borrowed the recipe from my friend's blog Major Cake, Vanilla Cupcakes, which the batter tasted delish and the smell was amazing. I've decorated them with green and yellow cream cheese icing. I find cream cheese icing to be quite yummy, not so rich as butte icing can sometimes be. Thanks Clare for the recipe, they're yummy.
Baked, the 2 in the corner were too deep and sank, great to
fill with icing though!!!!

Icing!!!! They're yummy!!

I also managed to complete my latest cross stitch, which I would show pictures of, but I can't just yet until it has been received by its intended person/people??? As to when it will be, not too sure at this stage.

Until next time.... Enjoy the wonder around you....

"But as long as You love me so, Let it Snow"

A Christmas carol sung by Sir Cliff Richard on his Christmas album "At Christmas", which seems to fit this winter's day here in Christchurch, NZ. Woke up this morning being darker and colder than it has been for nearly a year. While getting breakfast I thought oh it's snowing, it won't settle too much, it rained last night. But I was wrong. I walked to work with snow coming at me, but thankfully managed to arrive in time to get my usual coffee from Starbucks.

6 hours at work, with some customers before we packed up and trekked home, by trekking I mean having Insup drop the boss off and then me. Came home to a cosy warm house, husband had been sent home before lunch. Cranked the heat up a little bit more and settled down for some movies. Started with Meet the Parents: Little Fockers, which was alright but not as good as the first two movies.

Thinking of snow and Sir Cliff makes me think how cool it would be to be somewhere in the northern hemisphere for Christmas (not this year, unfortunately) but soon. I know it wouldn't be like it is in the movies ie: Love Actually, but it would be so awesome to go back to the other hemisphere to have a white Christmas. A log fire, Christmas tree in the corner, with lots of presents underneath it, a lovely roast chicken or turkey for dinner and christmas music playing the background. Could so do Christmas right now, just thinking about it.

The second movie was finishing "How Lose Friends & Alienate People", with Simon Pegg. It's quite a funny movie set in New York, where Simon Pegg works for a top magazine. While watching it, I think about my desire to work and live in New York even, just for a year. This partly Sex and the City's fault but also coz it's New York!!!

And just before dark I managed to get some photos of the snow, that do look a lot like last years, but I promise they're not.
My delightful Husband looking so impressed!

Snow on our washing line.

Trees from a block over (love my zoom lens)

Trees next to the above ones a block away behind our house.

Fence line with neighbours behind our place

Trees above our garage.

Down our driveway.

Snow.
Now we're watching some of the Queen's Jubilee Concert, where I know of the older performers than the younger ones (older meaning performers who were in the charts before I was born or when I was a toddler).

As for tomorrow, it's a wait and see/text message as to whether opening at usual time or if it's icy icy and open later. Who know's?? Either way must touch up my nails now. Ta ta for now. Keep warm Chch and snuggle up.
